Get on target very quickly. Ordered the magnifier too but apparently it was lost in the mail. Didn't order another. Really don't need it for inside 100yds. That's what I'm using it for. Quick on target.GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY!! But then again, it’s a Vortex! This is a 4moa red/green dot optic that can easily be changed for brightness and color! I’m older, my kids mention that way too often now, and given my astigmatism, I prefer the green dot setting but many prefer the red so it’s great to have the option! Sometimes I switch back and forth just to see if I’m actually getting younger? Benjamin Button’s got nothing on me! ?Best part is u can adjust the colored dot brightness way down for long range, 100yard+ shooting, the dot is more like a 2moa dot or less, in this setting! Cranker up for close range and you’ve got the best of all worlds! Also night-vision compatible for you “snoopers.”Very accurate optic with 1” groups at 100 yards zero even with my feeble eyes and shelf ammo! Paired this with the UTG Super Slim Flip up front and rear sights, and the Vortex Strikefire II with the cantelever mount can be adjusted on the rail for a lower 1/3 co-witness view with the UTG sights! Obviously your results may differ pending your line of sight on your favorite Gal! Running on a 5.56/.223 Pistol with a 7.5” barrel! She’s tight!!Super easy to install and super easy to sight in, use the smallest dot size setting when sighting in, and remember to shoot with both eyes open! Once you get used to this “both eyes open” style, Target acquisition is super fast and easy even for us old guys! Just remember, OLD GUYS RULE! ?Excellent combo and you might want to try the 36/300 yard zero with the 25yard adjusted zero targets for the 5.5" center mass strike zone out to 300 yards. Very impressive and might just become your favorite zeroed yardage? Most shooting ranges accommodate the 25, 50, 75, and 100 yard pins so the 25 yard adjusted zero targets gives you the 25 yard point of aim zero and a 36 yard point of impact zero so you can easily adjust for a 36yard point of impact zero when shooting at the 25 yard pin distance. Not many ranges offer a 36 yard pin so I hope that makes sense for you? Check out Vigilance Elite and ARMA Dynamics for printable targets with caliber details for your shooting range. Watch Shawn Ryan's 36yard zero video and you'll get the picture real quick. Thank you for your service Mr. Ryan!As is so typical of Vortex, this is one great value for the money! Way more features than optics at twice the price, and that extra savings allows for some nice additional mods and extra ammo!!Best of all, there’s the Vortex VIP (VERY IMPORTANT PROMISE) warranty which means that your product purchase is a 100% unlimited lifetime warranty-fully transferable, and no receipt needed.in Vortex’s own words, “VIP stands for a Very Important Promise to you, our customer. You see, it doesn’t matter how it happened, whose fault it was or where you purchased it. If you ever have a problem, no matter the cause, we promise to take care of you.”Who does that these days?VORTEX DOES!The only issue is that I didn't get a camo Vortex hat with my purchase as that deal wasn't offered when I purchased the Strikefire II optic. Who doesn't need another camo hat? WAAAAAHH! ;->God Bless Vortex! Great Products, Great People, Great Warranty, and Great Service! A truly great Company!Drink up me Hearties! YoHo!I have not shot with it yet. Overall I’m extremely happy with it. The unmounted picture is with it turned down 3 clicks the one on my pistol is on max. It tends to bleed out a little bit on max but overall it’s worth every penny. I don’t anticipate it not holding up to an AR being there’s almost no recoil. In the civilian world it’s perfect will update if it doesn’t hold zero ??Great sight picture and lots of adjustment opportunity, especially if you have a tight build with a busy rail. The Strikefire II went on in a about 2 minutes. A quick laser bore site and a trip to the range and this is putting my shots were I want them. While I co-witness with my iron sights, I can actually see and get a better sight picture with the red dot. I've used less expensing red dots and reflex sights before, but this is well worth the money. I have high confidence in its durability. To big just for a dot.Good scope for quick target engagement but not for longer distances*** Replacement Received ***Have to say, WOW on the replacement process.. Received the new one in less then 24hrs!! again.. WOW..The new sight, its a DOT! Even the up and down Arrows are easier to use. So, the first one was a defect..Haven't sighted it yet, but that shouldn't be difficult. At the moment happy with the purchase, err.. replacement..So, my rating went from 1 star to 4.. (would have been 3 stars, but the 24hr turn around bumped it up to 4)Hope this helps...At the moment, my rating is low. We'll see how the replacement goes.Like others I took a chance based on all the positive ratings and the item was on sale.PRO's -----It looks great on my AR..Easy to mount.Sighting it- didn't get that far.CON's -----Up and Down arrows, to turn on, increase brightness & change to Green dot, seem way to hard/stiff.Takes a bit of effort, pushing them..THE BIG opps and reason for returning.........The red/green dot.. is NOT A DOT! it looks like a five pointed star, but fuzzy..At first thought it could be the cheap generic battery, bought a new Energizer.. nope = same issueMaybe my eye sight? grabbed my other toys with red dot optics.. nope-- all had solid red dots..So, am waiting on the replacement.. really hoping it's not defective to.. I have another Strikefire sight and I like it a lot..But, if the replacement turns out to be just as bad as this one, then I give up.. I'll get a refund and try another brand..Simple, fast, effective, durable, low priced, and with a top notch warranty... impossible? Nope, that's the Vortex Red Dot Rifle Scope StrikeFire II!Used with a Vortex Optics VMX-3T Magnifier on my M&P15T AR15 since nearly a year now, and over 3.000 rounds, this scope is still mint.100% would buy it again.Used on my .223 AR/M4 Carbine. Works a treat.ExcellentPerfect for quick sighting of target at short distances (25 mtrs ). Good value for money.Value is great, still to use in anger.
