Perfect for my needs. This is just the gadget I was looking for to avoid breaking up fish fillets when flipping them over in my pan. These fish tongs work great for this purpose. The locking mechanism is stiff to engage and disengage. However, this works well for me because I can place these tongs handle down in my utensil holder without them popping open easily. The only improvement that could be made is to use a slightly heavier gauge stainless steel for the handles and to make the handles a bit wider. This would improve the tongs' appearance and make cleaning them a bit easier. Otherwise, I am totally satisfied with them. This is a unique kitchen tool that really works great.
