I won't try to understand the negative reviews posted here, as most are comparing him to Kerry Livgren and old Kansas material. This is Steve Walsh doing what solo artists should do, express themselves outside of their band.As for Kerry Livgren, he s a great songwriter, but rather lost his way rather then found it when he changed his musical direction because he thought god was speaking to him. But this is not about him, but Steve Walsh, a very gifted singer/piano/ synth player. I feel so much power here and songs that have true meaning to Steve, struggles, life, good, bad etc. This is a very hard prog album, but in no way can I compare it to anything else. It is unique in it's own way. I hear a man signing his heart out like people are not listening and he needs to be heard, I mean that in the best possible terms. He has something to say with every song. I find it to be a very progressive album with a very hard rock feel to it.This is not Kansas. This is Steve putting out a modern day release that needs to be listened to over and over to appreciate it. It is not three chords and songs about sex and feel good rock and roll. It has depth and power if you give it a chance.
