I was deliberating between the small and the medium for my North Face Surge. I ended up getting the medium, and it fits well. It's a bit big, but since it's adjustable, there's no problem tightening it to fit pretty snuggly around the bag. I'm wondering if the small would fit better, but I think the medium was the right choice as I want it to fit well when my backpack is completely full.
