I loved my French mug, I had it for years, but it was getting old and started to accumulate water in the inside wall. So I bought a new one, and I couldn’t believe it, after 2 uses, water started sipping inside the double wall! The product is incredibly smart and saved me at work, but I can’t understand how such a prestigious brand can sell a product with such a flaw!Only complaint is the fit of the screen in cup. Lots of grounds get buy.Love the concept just needs a tighter fitGood, seems durable, right size for a single serving.Great to have coffee anywhere. Unlike other french presses, you can add milk and cream in the cup. Great for hotels or other locations. I give them as gifts.Love the mug, but it is not durable. See photo, the small knob on the filter part just broke off when trying to pull out the filter. Bought in Mai 2020, maybe used on average once every second day. Over the past year, pushing and pulling the filter part became harder and harder - plastic rubbing against plastic and grinding on coffee powder. Repeatedly tried to do deep cleaning of the difficult parts to ensure thre is no stuck coffee leftovers. Design is maybe not the best idea for long term use. Will try this one now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075ZN4QQRMy daughter loves her mug!Had read some reviews about coffee grounds getting around the mesh and first time i made a cup quite a lot did. However, i never drink a cup to the very dregs so it did not bother me much. Next cup i made i1) warmed cup2) put fresh coffee in and put hot water in and stirred3) placed lid on and left to brew for about( 5 mins or at least enough time to make my toast) - cup is insulated so no significant cooling.4) took lid off and put filter in and slowly pressed keeping upright arm pressed against side of mug.5) result - virtually no grinds got around filter (maybe 4/5 grains)The first time i made a cup i pressed after maybe 30- 40s, too soon!Have bought it so can have decent coffee while camping, but will be useful if i want to take a cup down the greenhouse. The lid can be replaced after pressing, increasing the time it can stay hot. Coffee can even be drunk with lid on due to the small holes in it. Lid will also be useful while camping to prevent disaster if it accidentally falls over.Let me start by saying I'm not a huge coffee drinker but when I do, I like proper coffee ( and just recently trying mycotoxin free coffee which is generally always ground).I had a huge cafetiere which hardly saw the light of day so it got me thinking of other alternatives as I'm the only one who drinks ground coffee. My partner likes the flavoured stuff. So after searching for a 'small cafetiere' I came across the travel range of different mugs. Now I don't really travel with hot drinks, I'm always the driver but an insulated mug with the capability of being a cafetiere is brilliant for me.Pros -- Its insulated so stays hot and has a lid.- Does its job wonderfully, it doesn't leak granules into the water.- sturdy and well built- lovely to hold- you can pick a colour- small enough to travel in a laptop bag and fits all together so no need to store bits separately- you can use it as an insulated mug without the filter, I also use it for herbal teas. You could probably use it for loose tea too- a great presentCons -- The cost, its relatively inexpensive really but if you drink a lot of coffee, you can get a large cafetiere for just less. But if like me you are solo or don't drink much, the above will be void and this will be perfect for you.- Its plastic. So if you are eco conscious you will want to look into sourcing a bamboo or metal one.- if the inner filter breaks I'm not sure you can get replacements but I haven't actually checked. So for me, I love it. It's a great cup and I've used it a good few times now. In one of the pictures I'm sat in the car waiting for someone to pick something up and loving my cup.Technically a great design and when it works, this is fantastic. It feels sturdy enough, the handle is nice to hold and it is just the right size for a decent mug of coffee made from ground coffee. It looks and is very easy to keep clean and dry. It does keep the temperature well too.As others have mentioned there is that elephant in the room of how well it keeps separation of the granules from the coffee you end up drinking....and it's a mixed bag.It can be done, you can pretty much have success when plunging the filter down to have zero granules but there doesn't seem to be much method to it. I've made a few coffees using this cup now and it seems that sometimes those pesky granules just sneak through.I've tried slightly different pressures and angles when pressing the plunger down. I normally end up withdrawing it to the top to check on the situation of the granule collection before resuming. If i see granules I pull it out, give it a rinse and try again and I am usually lucky.Perhaps as other say you have to be super slow when first plunging.I think there really should have been an additional seal/gasket on the plunger mechanism. After all they put a thicker three ringed gasket on the lid, yet only one very soft gasket on the actual plunger where it matters just as much. So, close to being amazing but for that issue. Perhaps with practice it will get better and I will review accordingly up to the 5 stars. For now, just the 4 due to that. When you get it right though...WOW amazing cup of coffee to be had and I will be using this A LOT!I've used these mugs for many years and typically get around 2 years of daily use out of them before the rubber seal around the edge of the plunger starts to fail or the wire mesh starts to split. However this version appears to have been updated and I'm not a fan of all of the changes. The rubber seal has been changed so that it forms a complete ring around the base of the plunger, this is a definite improvement and helps to prevent coffee from finding it's way above the plunger. However, the rubber has also changed material and is now much softer & more flexible the the old version. I find that this causes the rubber seal to stretch more easily during cleaning and it can sometimes come out of the channel which holds it to the plunger. It's not too difficult to get it back in, but it's an annoyance I didn't have with the old version. The plunger base is made from 2 separate plastic pieces, and on my latest cup these are starting to come apart after just a couple of months use. Aside from these issues it's great. It gives me an easy way to have decent coffee if the office, and it keeps my drink hot for a long time thanks to its insulated walls. It's a shame that this version feels like it won't last as long as the one's I've had previously.Zyliss gives these products a 5 year guarantee but my two emails to their customer service department have gone unanswered since June.My plunger has separated in three places and the cup is not usable anymore. I bought the cup this year and it's no longer fit for purpose.I took a photo but for some reason I wasn't allowed upload it.
