I got this cart for my 20 month old and it was an instant hit. She loves it because she can put a doll in the front car part and all of her grocery play food in the cart part. The problem was that my 3.5 year old would fight my daughter for it so much that I had to order it for him in another color. So, now I have two of these carts at home. My son puts dinosaurs in the front and cars in the cart part. They both like pushing it around the neighborhood. i also like that it is taller than a lot of other play carts. My 20 month old can push it easily and my tall 3.5 year old son can also push it fine without stooping over. The assembly was a bit of a pain for me, but only because I did it with both my 1 year old and 3 year old hovering around me. There is one part of the assembly where you put the second wheel on the rod by hitting it on with a hammer (after you have hammered on the first wheel on the other side of the rod). You have to use the brown plastic cap thing to hold the already assembled wheel in place while balanced on the floor and then use the second brown plastic cap to hammer on the other wheel. From the photo directions I could not tell that you had to use the brown plastic cap on the already assembled bottom wheel and the wheel I was trying to hammer on kept slipping on the rod. So just keep that in mind that once you have assembled one wheel you must use a brown plastic cap on both sides of the wheels to keep the rod from slipping so that you can get the second wheel hammered on correctly.Overall, the cart seems very sturdy and my has held up well to being pushed around on the pavement. It also really helps my kids with their imagination play because they like putting animals or dolls in the car part, as if they are going on a trip. And they like pretending that they are grocery shopping with the cart, as well. We have a play kitchen and this cart has caused them to use their play kitchen more now that they can load the play food into this toy and wheel it around. I had been debating between getting a buggy for my daughter's dolls versus a play shopping cart, and this was a perfect compromise. It's a great toy! This item is over a year old now, and still like new!We purchased this toy to encourage our son to walk. It provides a good outlet for cruising, and he does enjoy it. It is super cute to see him peddling his "wares" around the house. The handle bar is about shoulder height, so it was perfect when he was a bit more wobbly. It provided more support than other toys which were held lower down at the waist. We had to make some "modifications" to it in order to make it more usable for him. For instance, the basket was too deep for him to reach into, so we added blankets at the bottom so his toys could lay closer to the top. We put some weighty items in the seat of the car so that it would be more stable, as he kept pushing it over sideways (it's more narrow - wish it were wider) and it would come crashing down. The one thing we couldn't change which would be nice, but would make it more pricey, would be to allow the wheels to rotate. It is a bit difficult to steer left/right and around corners, so sometimes he abandons when he gets stuck. But overall, it was a good investment. At one point, the price here was almost half that at Babies R Us.My 4 year old son loves this. We got the pink/purple one for our 2 year old daughter and this blue/red one for our son. I love this brand, as the materials are so durable...and my kids are rough with their toys...especially ones that move. :) This put together easy and in about 15 mins. My kids love riding in the shopping carts that look like these at the grocery store. So upon 1st seeing this my daughter tried to climb into the front of hers. I should've expected that. She was so upset that she couldn't get in it. I tried to show her that her baby can sit in there, but she yanked her out and tried to get in again. So that backfired a little bit. But I will have to get her the one she can ride in later on. As of now, both she and her brother know that they can't fit, but they are now cool about it and enjoy filling them with toys and racing them around the house...and there's a little spot to fit their cup, too. :)Had a problem receiving this. A day later than expected, and when I did it was missing a red plug to hold the wheel base on.Had to call Little Tikes for one nut. They sent me a whole pack of parts, three days later. I finally got to put this together and gave it to the little person for their birthday. The child LOVED this, and still loves it. It is a nightmare to assemble. I finally had to say a couple cuss words and I finally got it together. But I had to "walk" away several times, or I would have thrown it. :):) Other than that, I survived and the child loved it, so in the end that's all that mattered.I ordered this for a birthday gift for my 2 year old granddaughter. It was easy to assemble. It is very sturdy and my granddaughter loves it. She can put her little dolly in the car and "go shopping". Perfect! Now that my older 2 are in school, I actually brave the grocery store with my toddler along. His favorite part is getting a car cart, so this was the PERFECT birthday gift for him. He loves it. Assembly is always a bit of a chore, but it seemed to go fairly painlessly and I didn't hear much swearing out of my husband, so that's a pretty good indicator.I've seen various age recommendations flying around. It's a little bit short for my 7 year old, but she still likes to play with it. So, I would say any child that is under 48 inches and can walk would probably like playing with this and it would work for them. My 2, 5 and 7 year olds all love it. It's so cute, I might like to play with it too! This is a great little toy! Easy to assemble and very cute. It took my wife and I about 20 minutes. It is good for kids up to about 4 depending on maturity. I am sure older kids will use it but I think they will get bored quickly with it. The space in the car will hold a medium size teddy bear or doll. The basket will hold those little plastic grocery items perfectly. It seem fairly sturdy but we will see how well it holds up to the kids over time. I would recommend this if you have little ones running around and you want to keep them busy for a little while. This is Little Tykes so I thought I would get it for our strong 18 month grandson.ProsGood buildseems robustdoes not tip backwardsCons18m Baby does not understand why he cannot fit in it!Back wheels are soo tight they end up pushing it along not wheeling and it he gave up!it does not corner, just goes straight so is impossible to go round a corner in a houseDoes not run on carpet very wellTakes at least an hour to assemble with instructions on numerous separate sheets, all with an impatient 18m old hopping about. In conclusion I would get for a 3yr old and over and only on hard flooring or take to a supermarketIts headed for the loft for a couple of yearsCan not fault this at all! It is typical of Little Tikes quality and brilliant! It came needing a small amount of assembly but this was clear with instructions and tools provided and was very easy to do.It is made out of very chunky plastic and seems pretty much unbreakable even with my whirlwind 3 year old using it! It is a perfect size for toddlers and easy to steer. I have even taken it shopping with us, it definitely helped keep my hyperactive son on side and actually do some shopping instead of spending the time chasing him around the shop!!The basket part is quite large and can fit a lot of play food in it when playing at home. The car part is the perfect size for an average soft toy. This has been a huge hit in our house, even with my 5 year old daughter.I definitely 100% recommend. Fab purchase!!My little boy had this for about a day or so and the wheels fell off, we followed the instructions word for word and yet the wheels now won’t stay onHad other trolleys but got binned when my little one split her lip open when she fell on it.Brought this one as last resort and was not disappointed. She can put her dolls and shopping in it. Have also taken it to local shop. So sturdy and has not fallen on it or over it. Not fallen apart. I would recommend paying the extra for piece of mind and stay clear of cheap flimsy onesMy great grandaughter absolutely loved this, would definitely recommend
