This 2004 British import cd contains 11 tracks with a duration of 48 minutes. This is late-period Sky "Sunlight" Saxon, with an entire new band with all personnel different from the 60's era Seeds. Upon first hearing this cd, I was rather surprised at how much Sky's voice had weakened, but after repeated plays, I became quite used to the change in his voice. Sky just sings on this release. The other members of the group are Rick Collins on Bass and vocals, David Klein on keyboards, Mark Beligraph on lead guitar and Norman Cabrera on drums and other percussion. The songs are all written by Sky & The Seeds. The sound here is very similar to what The Seeds were creating in 1966 and 1967. The themes here are also similar but also expand into other areas such as World Peace, Saving the animals, gun control, trashing the justice system, and even space aliens. Once again, the sound is filled with swirling organs, fuzz-guitar, and overall, very 60's garage-psychedelic Rock. Some of the quality tracks here are the opener, "101 Colorized Bottles", "Fools On Capital Hill", which makes fun of Congress with it's refrain of "Yada-Yada Yada-Yada", "Uncertainty" , which features some nice fuzz-guitar and phasing, "Cracking Ice", "Cynical Watcher Mr. Peep", which features the refrain, "Save all the animals", "Violet Ray", with the refrain of "No war, no guns, world peace now", and "Judge With A Bomb", where Sky criticizes the justice system with his refrain of "hard hard time for a petty crime". So, all in all, Mr. Saxon seemed to have embraced some social commentary attacking various injustices with this late period release. After getting used to the changes in his voice, one can actually enjoy the tunes much more than when initially heard. One should just not expect to hear Sky's strong vocals such as they sounded in 1966-1967. Sky passed on June 25, 2009, at the age of 71. I, for one am glad that he chose to carry the torch in keeping the sound and themes of the 60's very much alive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! SMRZ!
