If you can spring for the bulk bag then you will be saving quite a bit per ounce. Super helpful if you go use it often or are looking to stock your pantry. I currently have it stored as is in the big bag, but may break it down into smaller bags or jars for easier use and freshness control. I have used Bob's Red Mill TVP before (and often use a wide assortment of other products over the years). I find it to be a high-quality brand.TVP is versatile. This is in crumble form, and so I use it in dishes that benefit from the crumble texture. I love using TVP to stretch ground beef, chicken, turkey, or sausage. Basically, anything that is a crumble texture. Whether it is in tacos, chili, spaghetti and meat sauce, I will portion out some TVP and add it to the mix. That allows me to use less meat and not compromise taste or texture. Nice way to simply reduce meat consumption if that is of interest to you and your family. For me is is more about cost savings first followed by reduction in red meat consumption.Naturally, can also simply use it as a total swap. For that, you will definitely want to use seasonings that help give it the flavor you are trying to replace. Texturized Vegetable Protein doesn't really have a flavor in and of itself. I use powdered broth (beef or chicken) and complimentary seasonings to achieve a close flavor.Anyway, it is a pantry staple. I use it enough to warrant a bulk purchase. Pricy all up front, but price per ounce is very good, especially if looking to save on meat products. As of 11/2022: $93.53 ($0.23 / Ounce)
