Many reviewers of this CD have claimed that Yennah is "Acid Jazz," and that this was their reason for enjoying the music here. That's cool. As a fan of downtempo electronic music, however, I want to say that this has very little in common with acid jazz. There is almost no live instrumentation, live drums, or any other real-time-instrument-playing on this one. It's downtempo electronica, plain and simple. The definition of acid jazz is essentially funk using jazz chords and vamps - entirely organic. For the reviewers who enjoyed this CD after classifying it as acid jazz, welcome to the digital age.Yennah uses a multitude of creative beats, samples, and dub effects to bring about their musical visions on this fantastic CD. The remix by Hull's own Bullitnuts only adds to the creative, head-nodding feel of the CD.Check it out.
