This is one of my favorite pop albums from 2010. I've loved Beth since her days with Honk in the early '70's, and no less her solo albums. This has pop, folk, jazz, and country elements, but still distinctly her own sound. And some of her mostmemorable songs too: title track, Golden Lines and Big Sadness really stand out for me, but the whole album has much to offer. One of the few albums recently I know that I hate to end, and I often play it through again! Also I think BFW is one of the very few people writing positive and pretty songs now that also have a lot of substance, are not riddled with cliches, and still deal with real life and grown up themes. Her other solos and work with Honk are all worthwhile too. If you like 'Socal' singer/songwriters especially from the '60's/'70's, or even earlier singers like Shelby Flint, you'll like her I think. And she has a terrific voice too!
