This may be Sean Baker’s best looking film, both in terms of cinematography, and in the photogenic star power of Simon Rex. I can’t say everything works for me, I kind of wish this were a little tighter, and there are a couple of familiar beats from other films (this does feel like an odd sequel to Starlet and Florida Project) that border on being obligatory. However, Baker continues to be acidic, compassionate, and unique with the source and focus of his movies.Big bummer that Karren Karagulian was relegated to a very muffled voice cameo, as he and Baker bring out the best in eachother. #makeKarrenKaragulianaleadingman
