These bowls are my absolute favorites. I use them for almost every single meal I have. I especially like the way they are deep enough to hold a full serving of something and still have enough room to carry the bowls without spilling anything.I do not, however, think the recent doubling in price is warranted.Great value for genuine bone china. I like the simple design and color. My friends have commented that they also enjoy the no-frills yet classy design. They are very light weight and may feel as if they would break easily, but I have found them to be quite sturdy. However, after a few uses, if you look at these dishes at an angle in direct lighting, you will notice the presence of superficial scratches on its surface. So, although they're not perfect, they're still a very good product for the price. As other reviewers have noted, the tea cups are small. However, I do not mind this fact as it allows you to finish your hot drink prior to it cooling. I would rather continually have a hot drink and refill it as desired rather than pouring a giant drink and periodically reheating it and throwing the excess away, but that is my personal preference. This is super duper every day china. I bought 3 sets. It is not equal to fine china (like Wedgwood, etc), and I surely didn't expect that for the incredibly good price! The dinner plates and bowls are lovely in form and perfect in size. The small plate I thought may be a saucer, but is actually a dessert or small salad plate. It is a useful piece, not the rarely used saucer. This is personal preference, but the mugs (which are lovely) are a wee bit small for my husband and I. The dishes wash up beautifully in the dishwasher. In the Q&A section of these reviews I read that these dishes were made in Malaysia--they are not. They are made in China. I do wish I had had that info. On the whole, I'm very happy with them and look forward to years of use.I bought the deep 9" inch bowls. I was on a never-ending quest to find the perfect size bowls for a decent adult serving of stew, or spaghetti, Chinese food, chili, or soups; the kind of size where you don't have to ask for seconds,(lol) because you have a bowl that's large enough to hold the perfect serving size ... but NOT like a huge platter/ bowl or something like that so don't freak out!. But just "realistic size" bowls. Especially for spaghetti( my fav!) Where the sauce won't run all to the sides as it would on a plate .....but stay on the top/ sides of the spaghetti...and serve it with a nice hunk of Italian bread placed at the side in your bowl. So FINALLY... really perfect size bowls for heart appetites.?? Woo hooooo! So eat up food lovers!?I have had 2 sets of this white bone china dinnerware for about a year. I was originally looking for the Rhubarb brand but it is no longer available in the US. This Red Vanilla comes the closest to the Rhubarb brand in design and quality. I get compliments all the time and the bone china doesn't get those black marks from cutlery and flatware that seem to ruin china, stoneware and porcelain so quickly. I would buy these dishes again. I agree with a previous reviewer that the side plate is a little too small (and the profile is a little too flat making it difficult to pick up the dish from the table or counter). But, there is an "entree plate" that is as little bigger than the side plate and a little small than the dinner plate that is available in open stock.I love this product! They are perfect size for staging ingredients when I am cooking. They are simple and elegant — just perfect.Oh! They make great rice bowls, too.I broke one recently — dropped it — but love them so much I bought another set as soon as they were back in stock. The bowls get greyish/black scrape marks on them when they are used. They also stain. I'm wondering if these are 'seconds' because the high gloss of the finish is now clouded in the bottom of the bowl. They have been used for side salads and are washed in the dishwasher. I've even handwashed them trying to get the 'cloudiness' out - thinking they weren't clean in the bottom. Soaking them in a clorox/water solution removes the stains - but who wants to do that all the time?I could not recommend these. The back stamp on the bowls says "Red Vanilla". It is plain and not inclosed in a black box like other "Red Vanilla" identical bowls. These are a perfect, hard-to-find, size - great for a serving of one pot meals, an over-sized individual salad, or a decadent serving of pasta. We were a little concerned when we first got these bowls (a couple of months ago) because they are thinner than we had anticipated and thought they would be fragile - but, they are not. These bowls have proved to be sturdy, have stood-up to everyday use, and continue to look brand new.Sólo es un tazón, no es un juego de 16 como dice. Dice rojo, en la foto es blanco, tal como llega.Tener en cuenta que es un tazón del tamaño apropiado para un niño pequeño, no para una porción para adulto.Pido que se cambie el título descriptivo. Muchos del los otros comentarios hablan de las diferentes piezas, pero no dicen que tuvieron que comprar cada pieza por separado. Not bad I guess, but the side plates are really small compared to what you would normally see. Also, one of the mugs has a manufacturing defect in it: the porcelain has a split inside the mug.ImI'm not going to return the whole set because of that, so that means iI have to live with it. I guess thats the mug I give to people I really don't like and wish weren't drinking my precious coffee.Nice quality plates, great to use and was. High quality glaze (no scratches). Only problem is the saucer sized side plates. They seem to have been selected in the set to ease packaging rather than actual use (fits a burger with no room to spare!!!!)The dishes are beautiful but a bowl and small plate arrived broken. They may have been packed too tight in the internal box. The Amazon box was large, allowing the internal box to slide around and it did not indicate that the contents were fragile. My wife loves the simplicity of the design
