Absolutely sterling boots, a bargain at twice the price.I bought them without expecting much but after a few weeks they've now become my daily wear. The fur keeps them snug and warm in this cold Autumn, it's well fitted and shows no sign of degrading yet. After my last pair of boots literally hobbled me for a week as I wore them in, it was a lovely surprise that these have been very comfortable from day one. They're a bit stompy and I've not had the nerve to try driving in them yet. It's a little annoying that the zipper's on the outside not the inside since that's a more natural place to fasten but it's not as bad as I expected. It's still a quarter of the time needed to put on un-zippered boots! The zipper, incidentally, is metal and sturdy. The fit's a little on the small side; I'm usually an 11-12 and took a 12 in these boots, having tried a pair of 11s that were too tight.Update, four months later:As I suspected, driving in these is possible but the pronounced brim around the shoe-sole tends to catch on the pedals a little distractingly. I'll get used to it, but be advised. After wearing daily for four months, the soles are beginning to wear a little thin in places but are still robust, water-tight and grip well, although the glue's giving a little in places.I put some good wax on them and protected the leather, and although it's scuffed and flexed, the leather's as strong and soft as it ever was, with no sign of giving under fatigue. The zipper has, if anything, become smoother and could probably do this for years. The wool is also still fluffy and hasn't gone bald; it's well-placed to insulate without taking the mechanical abuse of walking.Four months marks the point at which I've paid four pounds per month, per boot. That's pretty solid in my opinion.Update, Feb 2021:It's now been fifteen months. The boots have been my daily trudgers for the entirety of that time, although for obvious reasons they saw reduced use in 2020. They're still going strong although wearing a little thin on the soles; the fleece is still in good condition although compressed, I insulated them with fleece insoles. No leaks. I'm ordering a second, identical pair.Stupid not to, really.I'm used to wearing side zip boots and find them really convenient. I saw these after a search and thought I would give them a try considering the reasonable price and they looked durable. After breaking them in over a few days, they became my regular shoes, worn literally everyday, except for when I went to the gym or played sports. But, I was conformable if I had to jog or run in them if running late for a meeting or catching the tube or bus.The construction of the boots means that it is really pliant and has a lot of grip, but this also means that the sole has now worn down and I need to order a new pair, which I'm more than happy to do.My only criticism would be that the side zip is on the outside and not on the inside of the boots. an inside zip would mean that you can raise your inside foot up and unzip it easier than having to bend or squat down.Bought these boots for the winter ahead, looking for something sturdy, comfortable and nice and warm.Having just arrived I thought they ticked a lot of boxes, they looked great one, handy Zip for on and off and they felt nice and strong for the winter and potentially wet weather ahead. The first issue was the size, one foot was super comfy the other was almost painful but I thought I’d see if they stretched to fit. And they did appear to ease off, I wouldn’t say it was ever comfortable but it was wearable.I see others have mentioned in reviews the sole breaking up, this was the next thing I noticed. There is an odd tread pattern and thin strips of tread start to wear off, almost peel off, and this was when out on a light dog walk, nothing OTT.Lastly and this was only after a month of so, the left foot (comfy one) started to leak from the sole. There was nothing evident, no hole or crack but water was getting into the boot from the bottom.Started the return as was asked if the water may have got in from the top – come on eh!!! – however eventually a new pair were sent out. And GUESS WHAT –Exactly the same issues – painful, sole breaking up and after a month of light walking they were leaking.Had to return them for a full refund. So to sum up, these boots DON'T WORK on so many levels. They actually look great with jeans and one was mega comfy and cozy. Be careful though, they just wasted my time. Oh and 1 start is probably a half too many.I am size 9 but I bought a size 10 as I wanted this for when I go fishing and as they are fur lined and with a pair of thicker socks on I thought it would be better to have the next size up when I got them which was only few days after I ordered them opened the box and was very surprised how nice they looked looked to good for fishing but I did wear them and they were brilliant feet were war and toast and they are very comfortable no rubbing any were and I can still drive in them as some boots I have I cant so all in all very pleased with them might even buy another pair not for fishing just for normal wearShoes arrived this morning, much faster than advertised. 1st impression is good ! I ordered size 12 because my normal size 11 is not available, which is good because those shoes are very tight , I am unable to wear thicker socks. I went for a walk in the park with my new shoes and after 20 minutes my feet really hurt . 2 small and very hard ,I may return those but try some leather softening spray first.Update !!! I used 2 aerosols leather stretcher but still no improvement .after 10 minutes walk my feet are actually getting numb. Something wrong with those shoes .. charity, bin or return, not sure yet Ubdate !!!! Given those boots to charity shop
