Works fine for the price - ordered 5 more after using the first 3 - using as wild hog deterrent on my country place. Biggest gripe - the battery compartment. I need to be able to put in a freshly charged power pack easily when I'm out there, and this thing is way too over engineered to provide easy access. I have to take off the mounting bracket, then remove the 6 tiny screws holding the compartment to the chassis, then remove the battery harness from the compartment (without breaking the little wires or the solder joints attaching the wires to the circuit board), then swap the battery and then put it all back together in the wild. Very difficult to accomplish on an ATV. That's why I ordered more lights - far better to do all of this in the home, then just swap out the lights on the next visit, bringing the old units back home to recharge the batteries. That said, these things work very well when they've got hot batteries. The place is heavily wooded and in winter there's just not enough direct sunlight in the areas where I need them for the solar chargers to bring the batteries back up to full strength during the day. They never quit during the night - they simply slow down the flash cycle so that the batteries never go completely flat. If the batteries get so low that the units don't flash as quickly as I want them to do, they simply lose their deterrent value. However, I am astonished that these things flash as brightly as they do, and manage to do that with a single AA rechargeable battery. They really need a plug in power port where I can simply swap the power source on the fly. As they are, I can still use them for a hog deterrent. Might work for trespassers, too. Impressive at night.Worked great for our barges magnets make it easier. You do need to let it charge in full sun before they start working. Not only is this beacon not bright. They don't last. The beacon I purchased survived maybe 6-7 months. Which doesn't even reach their one year warranty mark. These are re-branded overseas junk. Don't waste your money! Seek out a better product. This is the 10th one I have owned, very nice light for the moneyThe light is fine, it's never been used. But the restaurant owner decided not have it. Can I return it? If so I no longer have the box it came in.I set it up on a post in my pasture exactly per directions, and it did not turn on. I took it down and searched for a switch, and I contacted customer service: There is no switch. It just does NOT work. They gave me my money back including shipping. My advice is: Don't buy it!Working well so far. Would have liked a larger screw holding the light to the base, but it seems secure enough.I use this in an airport situation. Works perfectly. Best attribute is the single AA size rechargable battery. Most of these type devices have some specialty battery you can never find. Battery will need to be replace in time but will be a breeze. An excellent device and I was not robbed.
