Master carvers have paid special attention to the detailing of this drum to provide a unique rough texture. Authentic goatskin heads are secured with low-stretch Alpine Nylon HTB 5mm rope runners. We recommend this drum for beginner to intermediate players. Each drum is made from legally harvested/Government inspected and certified Mahogany. It was so much more beautiful in person that I could have possibly imagined. It was obviously tuned, constructed, and etched with great care. I was surprised to see that it came with a note on caring for the drum and a DVD about tuning and playing it as well - that was a great surprise! I'm really thrilled about this purchase and the product. The size is great as well. They mention it being the perfect size for children or a good portable size for adults and they're definitely correct. I was worried that it would feel too small for an adult, but it's not at all.
