I bought this jacket for $23.00(!) and it's an amazing value for that price. I've only worn it in a drizzle thus far, but the DWR coating worked fine in those conditions. We'll see how the repellency holds up in a hard rain or after a few washings. A few little shortcomings which prevent me from giving it a full 5 stars, despite the price. First, having a liner is nice, particularly at this price. However, the mesh liner material snags easily on the velcro zipper tabs, especially when packing the jacket into its stuff pocket. One can close up all of the velcro tabs before stuffing, but that takes a little time. Second, the bill on the hood is rather short, and I don't have a huge noggin. Third, I think the jacket is mis-sized, although it worked to my benefit in this instance. I am 5'8", 160 lbs, 40" chest, and usually wear a medium jacket. I bought this jacket in "Small" because of the price drop. As it turns out, it probably fits than a Medium. I have plenty of room when wearing this jacket over a shirt. I can easily fit this over a mid-layer fleece, although it hikes up and shortens the sleeves a little. The waist is huge -- laid flat, it is 3 inches wider than my medium mid-layer jackets. Overall, I am happy with the quality of this jacket.Fits well, seems to breathe well. The pockets are great. I've worn it twice so far on rainy days and really appreciated the comfort and features. The fit is loose, so it can accommodate winter layers underneath if necessary. It looks sharp, as well.Very nice rain jacket. My only complaint, there's no way to tighten the waist. Makes the jacket kind of bell shaped on my frame but its not too bad if you have a insulating layer underneath.Nice jacket. I use it for kayaking. I like the pockets (nice size). The drawstring at the waist works well to keep water out while sitting.I had one stolen and searched high and low to replace it.Very nice jacket for the price! I got mine for 21.00 here on Amazon. What a deal!Great rain jacket for the price2 layers and still lightweight! Many of the single-layer ultralight shells out there are OK for summer showers but fail when you really need them in spring fall and winter. I have had many rain coats, from the lightest of Sil-nylon to Gore-tex parka systems, and the Red Ledge lined jackets are the best by far and my first choice in any weather. My first Red Ledge was 14 years old when the T4 waterproofing finally wore out!People are spending $130 for a single-walled product when you can get twice the protection for half the price! That amazes me.The inside liner is a mix of polyester (wind-breaker) material and mesh. This is essential to maintaining your body heat. Even if you aren't wet, having the wet shell on your skin will chill you just as fast. And let's face it, in heavy prolonged downpours, water always finds a way in, so it helps to have that extra layer to keep you dryer longer.I love many of the Jakuta features, including the roll-up hood, the cell-phone pocket on the chest, and the inside chest pocket. My XL weighs only 1lb2oz.The best feature in that it can pack away to about the size of a soda can! Very few 2-layer jackets can claim that.
