Red Sonja, Volume VI: Death - Dynamite Entertainment} This compelling collection contains issues #30-34 of the ongoing series. Red Sonja sacrificed her life to rid the world of the villainy of age-old demon Kulan Gath and now finds herself travelling with a mysterious Ferryman along the River Styx. When asked by Sonja where their final destination is, the Boatman replies, "To the river's end, where you will be judged". Her reply is curt; "I will be judged by no one - any who died by my hand richly deserved their fate". Not entirely true, as we come to learn, as there was much collateral damage caused by her actions in life, and she now has to confront such events and reflect on her responsibilities as a warrior whose single-mindedness left many fatalities in her wake. Epic battles and past pivotal moments are relived for our entertainment and excitement, whether it be for the incendiary incidents depicted or for the scantily clad she-demon we pine and pant for. 'Doesn't matter either way, our money and time here is as well-spent as her adversaries. The ending has its share of thrilling twists and circular storyboarding ("Same as it ever was, same as it ever was") that's supremely satisfying to aficionados of the series, so don't let this collection slip downstream - you'll be sorry you did when judgment comes round. Even in a savage, eerie underworld, it takes a strong sword arm to survive...The cover is by Alex Ross, the cover gallery includes luminaries like Fabiano Neves (who even illustrates an entire story - rare that is!) and Paul Reynaud (both also do transfixing Vampirella covers regularly), Adriano Batista and Ken Kelly. Impressive lot of talent, and remarkable writers include Ron Marz, Lee Moder, Pablo Marcos, Luke Lieberman and Brian Reed - 'can't go wrong with this one, gents...
