Robyn Habel is one of my favorites. She is a singer - song writer whose music is rock and rock ballads. If I need to compare her to a better know artist it would be Heather Nova. Robyn has a deeper, throatier voice than Heather. Bother are very good and I would not choose one over the other, but if you enjoy Heather you very well may enjoy Robyn.Robyn has three albums of her own: “Robyn Habel” - 1993, “Red” - 1996 and “Sun Come Shine” - 2008. Red was the first album I got and is still my favorite, but she has so many great songs on all her albums, I just drink them up and thirst for more. This is not teenie-bopper music. This is for the mature rocker. Her music has good diversity, varies from full heavy background to acoustic, from upbeat to ballads.Great melodies, with great lyrics. From “Love is a way” off the “Red” album:“You have a vision and I fall asleepYou have a mission, but I merely weepYou may be silver and I may be goldBut you are the hammer and I am the mold”Or from the lament “It has me” off her “Sun Come Shine” album:“I don’t want this world to fu*k you up like it has me”While I have favorites off all three of her albums, there isn’t a song that I don’t like. You can sample some of her music here on Amazon off her “Sun Come Shine” or some full versions of a few of her songs on her web site. If you are a mature rocker with some life experiences, you may relate to her music as I do, give Robyn a listen.
