Nice small pkgs. Average cost for organic lentils. Small lentils compared with other comparable. Pitfall, cook less time or coat with oil in recipe before cooking with liquid, or it may become mush.These cook up nice. Creamy and delish. Highly recommended. These cannot be found in in any of our local stores.I have never purchased "RED LENTELS" but kept reading on the health benefits...so I purchased these...soeasy to cook and I love the flavor...I made my first soup 2 days ago...I placed everything in a pot and brought to aboil, covered and simmered 25 minutes...then used my Stick Blender to make creamy...it is really delicious. I used 1 c. lentels (rinse until water runs clear) 3 org carrots, 1/2 onion, 5 garlic cloves, cumin & paprika, dried parsley...qt. of veggie broth ...( it makes a lot of delicious soup).....red lentils are very low on the glycemic index (doesn't raiseblood sugar) enjoy!I use these weekly, adding them to a variety of vegetable based dishes.A current family favorite includes a cup of these prepared lentils, a can of diced tomatoes, a can of coconut milk, a can of beans (any kind works), and seasonings like fresh ginger, garlic, and curry powder.Add diced toasted tofu and a bed of basmati rice and I have a whole meal.Love it!First time cooking lentils myself, so I can't compare it to any other brand. Tried it multiple times with varying ingredients and cooking time. They all came out good.Work well any recipes red lentils are called for! Would purchase again!
