Nikki Sudden was THE great unheralded singer, songwriter, guitarist. (Right up there with Ed Kuepper - who still is). Something about him was just so endearing. Maybe the way he seemed to have toiled away decade after decade in near obscurity touring and putting out record after record for what appears to have been the pure sake of it - like he simply could not do otherwise. This was just his purpose in life. Now that is what I call a true musician and an authentic human being! This album is a tour de force of his many styles, albeit in a mellow vein, and showcases his aplomb with all of them. Our man Godfrey gets huge respect from me and I credit his legacy of recorded music a treasure for the ages. Rest in peace good fellow, lord knows you have earned it...
