Nice setAll of the jewel cases have some defect or another. They are made of the cheapest plastic I've seen before. Two of the discs arrived free floating in the specials case. One of these discs is scratched to the point the disc skips. For the price i would hope we would get better cases and an actual wood box instead of very thin cardstock.Exactly as advertisedBinge watching Red Green brings back so many memories and laughs. Red Green was first available in the Detroit area on Channel 56 PBS. It aired in this are for many years. Red Green even made appearances here at the Outdoor shows. Then, with little warning, Red Green was gone. No more broadcast on PBS. We had but just a few VHS tapes to watch and remember him by. It was nice to find the Red Green complete DVD series offered on Amazon, and for such a good price. Now we can watch Red Green over and over and over again. This show was great, I can remember watching it as a kid and some as I grew up. The set let me watch all 300 episodes and enjoy the antics and inventions of Steve Smith's Red Green without all the foul language of many of today's comedies. My favorite character was Mike, the semi reformed thief with a seeming heart of gold played at many times with so much energy during the Word Game by Wayne Robinson. I also really liked Harold played brilliantly by Patrick McKenna who captured Harold's socially awkward and nerdy ways Rick Green as Bill during the Adventures with Bill and later just Adventures segment was also a highlight and how he was never killed I will never figure out with everything he went through, fell off of, was hit by, etc. I also liked Winston, Hap, Ranger Gord who spent far too many years alone in that tower and turned making slightly disturbing cartoons. Graham Greene''s demolitions enthusiast Edgar Montrose was also great and it took me a while but I eventually came to like Dalton. The different characters and segments as the show evolved over the years were a hit. Red showed a certain naivety about the world outside of Possum Lake and Lodge. The first season you could tell they had no money or idea what they were doing, and watching the show grow and change over the years kept it fresh and eventually a ride you could settle into and enjoy (as long as Red did not build the car) and laugh at. As I said I enjoyed this as a kid and as I grew up. Watching it again I realize I know people like these guys. Different actors appeared, all Canadian but some I recognized from appearances in American shows.I loved this show and the set, and only took a star off for a two reasons. One it was not a complete set, as the movie Duck Tape Forever was missing and I had to buy this separate. The other reason was the lack of commentary and bonus content, from what I have seen of the Stuffed and Mounted Sets they had much more. Only bonus material here were a few videos and intros by Steve Smith. However all the specials were included. Beyond that, I am sad that I finished it. Keep your stick on the IceI find Red not just handsome, but handy too.The DVDs came packaged in cardboard box printed to look like a toolbox and that was inside a corrorgated box with plastic corner protectors and that was inside another corrogated box with the shipping labels. They took a lot of care to make sure the product arrived in good condition. The DVDs so far are good quality and as fan of Red Green I am totally pleased to be able to watch any episode any time I want. All the disks were in their original holders. No scratches due to disks rattling during shipping. Very pleased with the purchase. Thank you, BobThe DVD quality is terrible, looks like VHS tape showing on hi-def TV. I am totally shocked with the low-resolution video. The manufacturer should be black-listed for producing this. I jumped ahead several seasons at a time including 2000 plus and the video quality is still as bad.One disc has a bad scratch which won't allow it to play.My apologies to Steve Smith for this review; your show was and is still great; too bad the discs suck.GeoffThe show itself is great. I deducted a star for two reasons. The first that the packaging looks like a toolbox, but it's actually more like a flimsy shoebox. The second is that the product showed up damaged. It appears that a clumsy worker dropped it and crumpled one of the corners somewhere along the way. On the upside, the discs do come in hard cases - unlike a lot of other box sets where the discs come in a stack of individual sleeves loose inside of a box. I have only watched the first disc thus far and haven't had any issues with playback, but if I do I will revise my review. I paid $149.99+tax CAD for this in June 2019.Was initially very excited to receive the full Red Green box set since I was born in the early 90's and this show was one of my favorites growing up. I opened the "shoebox," and opened up the first DVD case. The plastic separator was unclipped and the middle disc was scratched. Knowing this, I opened every single case and found almost every center separator unclipped and the center disc scratched. I decided to play the worst disc which was the Christmas special and it hardly played at all. I was highly dissatisfied since I love the program, but this product was packaged without adequate care to ensure the DVD's were protected from scratches. We have other program series on DVD's including The Love Boat, Hogan's Heroes and Star Trek, and haven't had the same problem. I don't normally leave reviews, but found this time appropriate. Amazon did a great job getting this product to me without any external damage. The damage likely occurred during manufacture. Have returned this product for a refund. With the awesome lightning deal price I paid this now sits proudly on my shelf. I was hoping the packaging was more of a hard cardboard box with an actual handle and latch but instead it's thin cardboard and the parts are just pictures on the the box. Otherwise, it was a good deal even if only for the discs included outside of the season's like the retrospective documentary. I've been a fan of the Red Green Show since the beginning and am a proud member of the fan club (member number 756). My favorite episodes are the first couple of seasons as it reflects the lower budget of most shows that it parodies (like Red Fisher). Quando omni flunkus moritati!A True Canadian Gem I really have learned quite a lot of life skills because of The Red Green Show and I will use them once this digital age has its recourse and then we'll all have to put away this technology and learn to re survive as a new society going back to making fire out of sticks and reinventing the wheel with the handy mans secret weapon...DUCT TAPE
