It is too big for my westie. I bought a large and should have bought a medium. It is very well made. I want to buy another one and return the one I received.Fits a Westie body perfectly.Good fit for my 16.5 lb. Westie. I appreciate the slot near the collar area that allows him to wear a harness under the coat and connect to a lead. Shipping from the UK was slow, as expected, but worth the wait.Fits perfect for my westie. He's styling and warm. Just an absolutely wonderful jacket. Perfect for your westie or scottie!I love this coat. The small fits my 6 pound puppy, with plenty of room to grow, I already ordered the medium, for when he is full grown. He is a Westie and will be 20lbs. It got on easy, snaps under the neck, Velcro at the waist, and 2 very elastic leg bands. Comes off just ass easy. It looks great and is warm as well, very well made. This is a great coat, people have already asked where I purchased it after seeing photos, of my dog in it. I would highly recommend!I ordered this coat for my mixed westie/poodle after not being able to find a red plaid in stores. I was a little worried how it would fit. It fits him almost perfectly, with the velcro around his neck and belly giving enough room for adjustment. The fabric is of good quality and looks like wool, though it isn't. The cotton lining is soft and keeps him warm in this brutal weather we've been having. The only minor problem is that I wish the elastic that goes around his back legs was a bit longer, but I'm sure it will stretch as he wears it more. The coat was delivered much sooner than expected, which was a bonus. My little laddie looks adorable!It is adorable and it was warm for my Westie.I bought this coat for my 2 Westies and they're little head-turners in it. The red tartan looks really sharp on them. It's the first coat they've ever worn and they don't mind it at all. There's nothing to constrain or bother them. There are two Velcro closures - one around the chest and one under the belly - and two loops for the back paws at the end of the coat. It's super easy to get on and off, and the medium fit my 23-lb boys perfectly. The coat is surprisingly inexpensive given how nice-looking and well-made it is. Beyond happy with the purchase. I'm buying 2 more!This is a great dog coat.The packaging was great, it came with a hanger. On the packaging was lots of instructions. So if you were thinking of a present for someone know it comes very well.The coat, I got a medium for my Westie who is just under 9kg, to be fair it would also fit upwards of a few kg.It's not at all loose, as the fastenings are nice and secure.The colour is great, a nice deep rich red tarten. It's very classy & smart.It's nice and warm, lovely soft matetial on the inside against the dogs skin.I am so impressed as to the quality for the money I paid. It really does look a lot more expensive, had I bought it from a shop, I know I would have been paying at least double.The edges of the coat are reflective, I do prefer not to just rely on that though and I have got an additional light on my dogs collar. But the reflective edging does work.I couldn't see from the photos on amazon, nor from the description whether or not it had a little opening at the top along the back to allow for my dogs lead as he wears a harness, but to my delight it does. It has a little zip, for those with a lead on a collar you can keep that part zipped up.The coat also has a collar for the dogs that can be folded down.Over all, this coat is beautiful, warm and super quality.I highly recommend it.Sorry for the photos my dog was very grumpy at having to pose.The jacket fitted very well and was easy to get on and off.I ordered the medium size coat for my Jack Russell/Corgi as her length collar to tail is 37 cm. However, when the coat arrived it was HUGE on her, so much so that the belt was overhanging it's Velcro by about 5cm as was the excess around her chest (and she has a quite a broad Corgi chest). It looked nice with it's red check and florescent edging, but was obviously too big. I ordered the small size to compare. It was so small it looked as if she was wearing a saddle on her back! The chest and belt were better but the leg elastic and body of the coat were no where near long enough. When comparing the 2 coats, I would have been lucky if they fitted my dog. The variation in sizes was so considerable! The belt on the small was 58 and on the medium 70 cm! I like the softness of the coat, so have decided to keep the medium coat and sew on extra Velcro where it overhangs. ANCOL really need an "in between" size for smaller dogs because the variation in coat sizes is too great.I bought this for my Westie, he’s an okd dog with arthritis. It looked great in the bag when it arrived. When I took it out it didn’t look as good, it is like pyjama material it looked old and wrinkled! Definitely not water proof. So it acts like a sponge. The leg elastics doesn’t fit his swollen legs because of the arthritis. Sad but I bought it to cover his back legs, to keep them warm while walking, maybe I should have ordered a large, but the rest of the coat fits well we went by the sizes shown. Don’t trust them unless your dog is exactly that size. The leg elastics render it unuseable. It would be good for a large puppy maybe. The hanger broke in the post too. I won’t buy another, or recommend. Sorry.Update: it only lasted one winter (3-4month) as the velcro is designed to fail after so much use. The velcro is incredibly cheap. It's worn away after 3 month to the point it won't even grip to close anymore meaning the coat is useless unless you have a machine so sew new velcro on. For the price of the coat I expected better.Old review:Gorgeous coat, my Chihuahua (Deer head) got a size small and it fits perfectly. It keeps her warm even in this cold we have had in the UK recently (-3C) thankfully as Chi's get a little cold!The fabric looks great and it wipes down easy, but because the coat has pieces sewn onto it for the velcro straps etc it can cause dirt to get caught and it's a little harder to wipe clean.Finally it has 2 elastic pieces you are supposed to wrap around your dog's legs to keep the coat stable, but I have just cut them off and make sure the velcro wrap around the stomach is tight enough and it doesn't seem to move; so don't worry too much about them straps if you don't want to use them!
