Description
Product Description The sleek, innovative design of The Original PlasmaCar features a patented safety seat, polypropylene wheels, and is kid powered; kid approved! Sit with both feet on the footrests, turn the steering wheel and away you go. Turn and navigate in small spaces indoors, and ride outdoors on sidewalks, pathways, and any other safe, smooth, flat surface. The award-winning PlasmaCar is easy to operate, and helps your child develop coordination, balance, and motor skills while harnessing the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction. PlasmaCar is adult-friendly too: it doesn’t require an expensive power source that needs constant replacement, it provides kids with plenty of exercise, and it is quiet, the only sound you’ll hear is the sound of the wheels. Adult assembly required; instructions included. Please review all warning labels and read instruction manual before using this toy. Fully assembled: 31” x 14” x 16”. Model No. PC020. Material - Body - ABS Plastic From the Manufacturer It's like magic, but you don't need to be a magician to get it to work. The PlasmaCar is a mechanical marvel that makes use of that most inexhaustible of energy sources, kid-power, by harnessing the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction. It's so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface. The PlasmaCar is adult-friendly, too. For starters, it doesn't require an expensive power source that needs constant replacement. No batteries, no power-cells, no liquid fuel-just the occasional cookie or two. It's quiet too-the only sound you'll hear is the sound of its wheels. It provides kids with plenty of exercise, more so than most toys. And the PlasmaCar is engineered to be absolutely safe when used appropriately. It's been extensively tested, and meets or exceeds all significant international safety standards. Fully Assembled: 31" x14" x 16"8.15 lbs Please look at the videos on the catalog for installation.

Bought this for my daughter to ride on but I end up riding it around the house the most. Clearly if it can hold up my weight, this thing is very durable.Rating based on my assembly and preliminary testing before giving to kids. I will post update if there are any issues. I didn't assemble this in 5 min as some of the other reviews suggest but it is fairly quick and easy provided you have the tools and watch the video ahead of time. It is also a quiet assembly so it can be done without waking anyone up.1. Buy a rubber mallet with the car too if you don't have one!2. Watch the short video on website before assembling. Good 2 min visual to accompany simple 9 step guidebook.3. Have tools available for assembly 3a - scissors or knife to cut the string holding parts together (not noted in the directions) 3b - Rubber mallet - (based on other reviews i bought Stansport Rubber Tent Peg Mallet for $5 on AMZN add on when bought the PlasmaCars) 3c - Philips head screwdriver to use with enclosed hex key OR a 17mm socket wrench (for steering assembly) 3d - Flat head screwdriver or butter knife if you mess up installation and need to remove the steering wheel cap (not noted in directions)4. Assembly Step Tips 4a - Step 1 - I had trouble wiggling these in. Both rear wheels are labeled with R and L and they should flare out from the body. There is a little bump out on the wheel post that fits into a groove as shone in the picture. I had to wiggle back and forth along with using the rubber mallet to get firmly in place 4b. Steps 3-5 - Step 3 - Make sure to remove the foam sheath from the front wheel assembly carefully as you will still need it in step 4. Thread the bare pole through the bottom hole, then reattach the sheath (step 4) before guiding to the top of the body where it will connect with steering. 4c Step 7-8 - Align the steering wheel. Wide part of steering wheel facing forward (i.e. farther away from body if you are sitting on the car) and smaller front wheels which don't touch the ground in the front. When you are tightening the screw in step 8, make sure that both the wide part of steering wheel stays facing forward and that the small wheels stay facing forward. When i assembled, the front little wheels which don't touch the ground got inadvertently turned around without my knowing when i assembled and so the steering was opposite what it was supposed to be. I called customer service and representative suggestion was to send in pictures and a video... I'm not sure how that would've helped me nor did I have time to wait for product support to respond. I was assembling 2 cars so once I did the second car I realized my error and was able to unscrew the steering shaft, realign and re-tighten.5. Based on other reviews, I did buy Plasma Car Polyurethane Replacement Wheels - Black. I will post separate reviews of the wheels as they were sold by a different provider. They certainly do appear to be noise and scratch resistant compared to the OEM wheels. Note when i called customer service about my steering column issue I did mention the other wheels and representative said they do not recommend doing that unless the wheels come with the unit. This toy is just plain fun. Even for your kids! In fact you might have to get them one as well! It started when we ordered a couple for our two grandkids. Both boys. One barely walking and the other a 4 year old that doesn't know the meaning of walk. Once we got these put together we saw how much fun they were we had to find a reason to order more, so we decided our niece and nephew needed them as well. The specifics:1. The toy is easy to put together. All you need is a hard rubber mallet (a block of wood and a claw hammer works just as well), and a Philips screwdriver. (You will not need to put in any screws but you will need the screwdriver with the included socket tool to help you tighten the nut on the steering shaft). There is a good video on YouTube about how easy it is to put together.2. The toy is sturdy. Check out some of the plasma car race video's on YouTube to see how sturdy this toy is. (In no way do I suggest this is the way to treat the toy, but the videos are entertaining.) In any case they state the toy can handle up to 200 lbs on a smooth surface. I can personally testify that it will handle a bit more than that with no problem. (Hey Plasma Car! How about a bigger model made for us full size 50 year old adult frame types. I am at a significant disadvantage when sidewalk racing because of the cramped posture I must assume when competing!)3. The toy is fast enough for any toddler, and on a downhill slope can be a real thrill. Toddlers will find it fun and they figure out how to make it move without any instruction. They can also paddle it around with their feet as well. Believe me, they will make it move plenty fast with just a little practice.4. The toy is expensive but consider that if they start at 4 years old they could ride it for 10 years or more. So it only comes out to about five or six dollars a year. How many toys can you say that about?5. No motor. No fuel. No batteries. You might think that means no fun. But not so! Certainly it's not as fast as a dirt bike. But watching my 18 year old daughter cruise around the house made me realize that fun riding toys don't necessarily need motors. And since we won't let her ride the dirt bike indoors, (or even her bicycle for that matter) this becomes a fun alternative.6. Quiet. Except for the giggles and squeals. If you read other reviews you will see a couple of disappointed reviewers. As for being hard to put together, the ones we received went together easily. You will need a hammer of some sort, and some tool like a screwdriver to turn the socket tool but that is all. Fast and easy to put together. As to being slow, well it can be. It can also go fairly quickly. It's all in how you work the handles back and forth. Really, check out the videos on YouTube.I think kids of any age will really like the Plasma Car. I highly recommend this product.I bought this for my two year old for Christmas as when I was younger this was my little brother's favourite toy and I remember how much fun he had in it. He had it from the age of 3-10 and absolutley loved it. Even though she was a little young I decide to get this as the price was amazing and it's something she can grow into. We opened it together and my fiancé put it together. There is a great assembly video on YouTube and it takes about 5 minutes only tip is to make sure the handle is straight when tightening the bolt! We weren't quite paying attention and put it on a bit wonky at first but my step dad soon fixed it. She really enjoyed scooting around in this on the hardwood floors and her older cousins actually got on too and had a go and wouldn't get off they had so much fun. As my little girl is only two she's not quite got the hang of the fact you can make the car move by rotating the handle back and forth (something her cousin clocked right away) but she had fun none the less and I'm sure will soon pick it up. I would highly recommend this product we take it to the park and she uses it indoors on hard floors it is a great way to get moving and have a blast while doing it. Delivery was on time as well ordered and delivered within 48 hours. We saw this toy at friends in Boston and we were already wondering how to get one home when we found that amazon uk sold it too. Everybody is having so much fun! Our 4 year old immediately got it. Our 2 year old is getting there and the parents and grandparents love it too! We have to have rules as to how long each one is allowed on it as it is so much fun. One thing: please make sure you tighten the bolt in the steering wheel...the tighter the better the car goes. As the manual says...that bolt really is the secret of the plasma car...Can't wait to buy one for all the other kids in our extended family! My son loves this car having used them in preschool for a number of months. It didn’t disappoint him. He is 4.5 and slightly delayed with his gross motor skills. Easily assembledMy 2.5 yr old son absolutely loves this car; we came across them at his pre-school and there is always a scrum during outdoor time on who can get one. Great for exercise and outdoor fun. Works best on a slight hill and smooth surface. Great fun and very pleased with purchase.Strong well built even had ago myself and it arrived very promptly.the three year old it was bought for is using it by scuttling on with his feet at moment as to small to use it properly but loves it anyway
