This is the best spout assy to be applied to a plastic gas can. The can is very sturdy plastic. It is extra hard around the spout hole. This gives it that leak proof seal. It has a clear plastic view strip area so you can see how much gas is left in the can without removing the spout. I didn't try the auto stop fueling feature. I filled & emptied the can twice without a drop of fuel leaking anywhere. I filled my motorcycle gas tank while it was cold just in case this no-spill can wasn't no-spill. Two trips to the gas station with no drips in my car, or onto my bike. I would feel confident topping off my bike tank even when my bike is hot. The spout assy has a thumb lock tab on the black ring. You have to press it in to twist the spout assy off the can. Some people have complained about that being difficult to do. I found that it wasn't very hard to open even with my gloves on. Plus it reassures you that it won't vibrate open on it's own. No it doesn't have a vent hole. Point the nozzle in a safe direction & press the button to vent the can.
