Easy to apply, doesn't have heavy smell, if any at all. Doesn't flake after using and is easily rinsed out if desired. Small amount goes a long way.I have used a lot of difference pomades. The issue is that I have extremely curly and thick hair, but I don't want hard clumpy product in my hair. So I came upon pomade a few years ago. I started by using the ones that you can find in the store everywhere, Cremo, American Crew, Paul Mitchell, etc. Every single one of those ends with my hair being all over the place within 2-3 hours.With this pomade I have found that I can get a good mold and hold for the entire day, and because it is so soluble with water, I can re-wet my hair later and reform it if it gets out of line. It also gives a wonderful sheen to the hair, and smells nice as well.Overall, the can itself is a bit pricey, but you get a ton of product with it and it lasts me a few months every time, using it every day.5/5 RecommendAlways in my rotation of pomades. Use with heat from hairdryer to maximize styling.I really love their products as I have many of them, this one does indeed smell like cola, long lasting smell, great to style, does not dry out the hair but.... It's very greasy... At first I have have used too much and thought it was my fault, but then the second time I used it and by the end of the day it looked as if I rubbed bacon on me. The third time I used even less and still the same result.My guess is, this may be a winter hair product that handles better in the cold, for me I am a chef and I also go to the gym, I would not recommend this is you're going to the gym or if you work in a hot kitchen.Now, that doesn't take away from it being a very good smelling product, I will try it when it gets colder to see if it really makes a difference.I have very fine straight hair which is a pain by itself so I keep it high and tight. The issue I was having was residue from other products on my scalp making me look like dandruff guy. I stumbled across this and the advertising pulled me in as well as the how to use videos for their products. A dime sized drop rubbed in my palms and applied to dry hair is a miracle now. Not only does it look natural it stays put without being greasy or stiff like a rock. I just comb the front straight up into a flat top and I'm set for the day. It has a faint pleasant smell but nothing overpowering. I've since ordered many other products from them and 100% satisfied.BASICSPrior to the recommendation and purchasing this product I was new to Pomade products and the use in styles such as Slick Backs and Pompadours, before then I primarily used Styling Creams and Gel Waxes with Fixing Sprays to get the desired hold and sheen. Back then my hair and the styles I had were short and spiked, So the texture and hold of this product was new territory for me.PERFORMANCEThe consistency of the Pomade, which is water based, is like that of a thick Petroleum Jelly, which although quite thick, warms up in the hands and is picked up by the hair easily spread with the help of a little warm water which actually helps the product go a long way.When I started I used a large knuckle expecting to use an an amount equal to to the length of hair compared to what I used when I used to use Creams and Gel Waxes with short hair. Now that I am more used to the product with my length and thickness of hair, I only use an amount the size of a small half knuckle and find it holds the style very well even without the use of Fixing Sprays, Though I still sometimes use a little Fixing Spray solely for extra sheen as I like the flexibility the Pomade provides.Speaking of the sheen the product gives a natural mid sheen opposed to the 'High Sheen' as the product describes, which was a bit of a let down. When it comes to restyling it is easy to apply a little more product to achieve the desired affect, But if you don't have the product with you a small amount of water is enough to reactivate it as it is water based. This also means that the product is easy to wash out at the end of the day.As well as the hold and flexibility, the fragrance of the product is a real highlight for me, as with other Creams and Gel waxes the fragrance seemed to fade over the course of the day, the Pomade though lasts throughout the course of the day and well into the evening with a luscious Coconut fragrance. I really liked this and found it similar to a subtle Chocolate and Coconut Yankee Candle in fragrance, compared to the Fruit chemical fragrances of other products I have used in the past.9/10VERDICTThe Reuzel Red Hair Pomade is definitely an expensive purchase and now that I have mastered the amount required for styling my hair, I can see this product lasting for a very long time.The hold and flexibility of the product for my length and thickness of hair is surprising for the small amount used, But when My hair gets longer I do imagine I will be needing a slightly larger amount o Pomade and require a little more Fixing Spray.The result of the sheen is a letdown given the description of 'High Sheen' and the the initial cost of the item. I may try another brand after this as it is quite expensive compared to other products seen in retailers, but I can see this lasting a very long time.9/10My barber introduced me to the red Reuzel. We've tried the bright blue tin, the grey and the pink, but the red works best for my type of hair – thick and wavy. I've been using it at home every day for 4 years, and I wouldn't do without it. I like to be able to run my fingers through my hair, and the red Reuzel keeps it in place, with neither a wet nor a crusty look; just natural. This large tin is much more cost-effective than buying a small tin from my barber. Sorry mate.I really like this pomade, works in easy to dry or damp hair. I use a little and it slows my hair to have movement and not locked into place, if you use more you can get a slick pomp but the product stays flexible and not hard and crispy.I am going to try the blue for more hold but suspect I will go back to red.Small tin isn’t great value but good for a test run.Fantastic product, having had unsuccessfully tried different hair products I was recommended this pomade by my Barber.I found it easy to apply and gave a good sheen. As this is a water based pomade its a breeze to wash out ( though doesn't perform well in rain ) and doesn't seem to leave your hair feeling greasy or sticky. However compared to other stronger holding products this one does frequently clump together and fall out of place, requiring restyling by the end of the day.All in all I would highly recommend this pomade for anyone looking for a new styling product.Pros:- Smells nice- Nice shine- Average holdCons:- Often needs restyling by the end of day- If it rains you're screwedLove this product.....doesn't hold as well as non water based pomade but gives a much softer feel and look with enough hold to last the day.. .... plus, easy to wash out with none of the horrendous, impossible to wash out completely, product build up. Very small quantity but will probably last as long as I keep my current short hairstyle!!
