Shelley Harland was introduced to me earlier this year by a friend I made through listening to music on last.fm, an online music site. "Disappear", a track from her "Sinking Shade" album, and her Pixszels recording of "In The Dark" were the first songs I heard, and the search was on to find more songs. This album, "Red Leaf" is loaded with wonderful songs and showcases her sweet voice with songs that range from tender love songs like "Happy" (kiss me one more time...send shivers down my spine...) and "Wonder" (I wonder if you married the perfect person, if your children are beautiful...I wonder if you're smiling to yourself...) to an acoustic version of "In The Dark" and a strong rocking tune like "Stranger". Just lovely. What a shame that such a wonderful talent is hardly being heard. A beautiful video of her Pixszels version of "In the Dark", which I've seen many times at last.fm, has relatively few viewers. Moody but hopeful lyrics and her fine voice make it a must listen (and the visuals are complimentary). And the same is true of this album. It has become a regular on my playlist. Now if I can only find "Sinking Shade"....
